Let's start with how to decode your VIN, then follow with 928
option codes...

this is called a VDS code; would be ZZZ for Euro car, and chassis will
be stamped ZZZ
>92 = car type (?)
first two digits of "928"
>5 = test code or filler symbol
the former
>H = model year 1987 ( I=not used, J=88, K=89, L=90, etc)
yep, and a good year it was
(Porsche did not use "I" or "O" in the VIN because they can be confused
very easily for a number instead of a letter.)
>S = place of production Stuttgart!
yep
>8 = "7th & 8th position indicates car type"
third digit of "928"
>6 = code for body & engine
yep; don't know specifically what it means
>1113 = serial number
yep

No. ABS was standard in '87, limited slip optional (but very common,
so it's likely, but not guaranteed without dear old code 220) (see option
codes below)

Below is a listing of common option codes. The codes selected
by the original purchaser should appear in a number of places. It would
behoove any potential buyer to check the VIN/codes for authenticity and
accuracy, especially regarding ownership of title with the local DMV. Not
all codes will appear on build sticker due as many were standard equipment.
1 - Owner's Warranty Manual
2 - Build sticker which is located in the rear luggage compartment.
Lift the hatch, unscrew & remove the toolkit, then lift the right,
rear side of the floor carpet. The sticker should be attached to the bodywork
immediately underneath the carpet.
3 - VIN code should appear as above, as well as on windshield post strip;
drivers doorjamb plate; and on later cars a thin plastic strip with a printed
barcode on the passengers door. Viewable when door is open, above the small
red warning light on door.
^ Driver's doorjamb showing (top) paint code sticker (mid) VIN plate
(lower) US emmissions plate
^ Rear luggage area with carpet pulled up (note spare tire cover on
left). White sticker should be present listing VIN and all codes... If
not present and no duplicate sticker in manual, see 'Cardex' info at bottom
of this page...
