Looking for guidance in resolving my loss of gauge info after running out of gas. My working gas gauge falsely indicated 1/4 at the time my engine quit in the middle of traffic. I fortunately was able to drift to the side of the road and made several attempts to start it to no avail.
After Roadside Service came to the rescue with a gallon of gas, I was able to immediately start the car and drive home. After starting the car, I notice all of my digital info and analog tachometer and speedometer were inoperative. The only gauge working was the voltmeter! What's the source of power to the aforementioned gauges? What does the instrument panel function have to do with running out of gas? I have checked the #10 & #44 fuses (they are good) and as a suggestion to reboot, disconnected the battery for 10 minutes. I also, with the key "on", jumped the two wires to the float sensor to see if the gas gauge would move and it didn't. I am still without any gauge indications.

Does the odometer still function? Any function from the trip computer or outside temperature indication?

I would confirm that the instrument pod connectors are firmly connected. if the connector slipped off there would be no display.

Rich, No, the digital odometer does not display nor do any of the digital windows (trip, temp) display info. The analog speedometer, tach, temp & fuel level are also inop but the voltmeter gauge works as do all of the lights. If the pod connector slipped off, what would allow the anti-skid warninng and volt meter and lighting to continue functioning when the key is turned on?

Problem solved. I had already checked fuses 10 & 44 as advised by others. Another later advised checking # 24 and it was blown. Everything works now. I'm a happy camper.
P.S. Just to explain the reason for the loss of gauges; it was a glove compartment light module that had fallen out of its cubby and shorted out causing the #24 fuse to blow. It wasn't the hard to relate running out of gas! My wife had opened the glove compartment while we were waiting the the rescue service and knocked against the fixture. it was just a coincidence. I confirmed the cause today, when I attempted to reinstall the fixture and caused it to short out with the now known loss of gauges associated with #24 fuse.

Good news, thanks for sharing the fix.
FYI FUSE 24 is listed as Inside light and diagnostics connection.
